HP5+ in Rodinal 1+50: my starting point
Rodinal keeps forever in the bottle, which matters when you develop a roll or two a month. At 1+50 it is gentle enough for a forgiving film like HP5+.
- Dilution: 1+50, 6 ml concentrate in 300 ml water for one 35 mm roll
- Time: 11 minutes at 20 °C
- Agitation: 30 s at the start, then 10 s every minute
The first rolls came out a little thin, so I now rate the film at ISO 320 instead of the box speed. Shadows open up, highlights still hold.
